Learn how to save money when moving in Gainesville by following some simple tips. One of the most overlooked ways to save money when moving is being prepared. Having everything ready for the moving company on moving day is essential for a smooth, safe move and savings. Many items that would not normally be considered for a box should find a home inside cardboard. Any small items that can be put into a box should be. It takes the same amount of time to move one single items such as a small table lamp that it does to dollie out 5 boxes. Having everything possible boxed will reduce the amount of time when your moving in Gainesville.

When moving time equals money most of the time. Being able to cut down on time by having everything boxed will save money unless a flat rate price was agreed upon for the move. Having everything boxed is one way to save money moving in Gainesville. Another way to cut costs is to pack everything yourself. Packing everything yourself can drastically reduce the total bill from the moving company. Remember that most companies will not assume liability for any items packed by the customer. As long as you follow some simple rules for packing there will be nothing to worry about. After packing everything up it is advised to take apart any furniture that should come apart.

Moving companies in Gainesville will take apart and put back together any furniture items you cannot. Once again the reduction in time will save some money in the end. The main thing to remember when doing any of these steps is safety for yourself and your belongings. Always have someone assist with heavy or bulky furniture that is being taken apart. Also remember to never over pack the cardboard boxes and have them all located in one place. Remember these quick tips to reduce the time and overall price of your next Gainesville move.

Some things to consider when moving in Gainesville are location, location, location. Ok so it’s not really that simple although location should play a very big role in where you will be moving in Gainesville. Gator Saver Movers is a Gainesville Florida moving company but our service area extends throughout the entire continental United States. Exceptions to having a great location in Gainesville is if you commute everyday from places like Alachua, Archer, Bronson, Chiefland, Fort White, Hawthorne, High Springs, Keystone Heights, Melrose, Micanopy, Newberry, Trenton, Waldo, or Williston.

Some things to consider when moving in Gainesville are

Moving location in Gainesville

Potential Gainesville schools for your children

Pricing, Amenities and Incentives

Price and location should be the two most important factors when considering what place you should move to in Gainesville. The Gainesville area is mostly residential with shopping and restaurants mostly along Archer road and Newberry road. Everyone knows about the bad traffic in Gainesville, especially when the Gator Nation is at capacity during the school year. Finding a place close to your job in Gainesville will reduce the commute required each day. If possible avoid having to commute down Archer, Newberry, or 34th st. Another factor for families is the Alachua county school zoning the property is in. The other extremely important thing to consider is the pricing, amenities and incentives.

Make sure to do your homework on the properties while looking for a new place to move to. Sometimes, depending on the time of the year, apartments will reduce the monthly rate and or give a few months free on a year lease. When the students leave Gainesville most apartments will be vacant and desperate to fill the units up. The summer migration of students leaving Gainesville gives leverage to potential tenants. Try your hand at negotiating a better monthly rate, in most instances you will be surprised. If you’re looking to move into a home then the dead of summer/winter will be your best choice. Apartments’ amenities vary greatly as do homes. Some houses are in neighborhoods that offer great amenities such as Haile Plantation, and other newer communities. Real estate agents and leasing agents in Gainesville often offer great incentives to rent or buy.

Quite often while driving around town there will be signs for a “free scooter”, “free laptop”, “cash back”, “no closing costs”. Once a few properties are narrowed down it is a good time to compare the incentives. If one is offering something another is not then try and get the companies on the same page. Many times companies will match the others incentive in order to retain your business.

Make sure to consider these things when moving in Gainesville and make sure to not settle for something you may regret later.

Gator Saver Movers, the most trusted moving company in Gainesville, has teamed up with Cox Media. As many of you may have already seen there is an advertisement on Cox channel 8. Cox channel 8 is the GoScout Homes channel. This channel offers a unique viewing experience. The channel only displays real estate listings along with advertisements from companies that are somehow involved with the real estate market in Gainesville.

We wanted to use the advertisement to introduce us to Gainesville and let the community know a little more about the company. The advertisement on GoScout Homes introduces myself, Robert Roundtree and Frederick Pohl. We are the owners of Gator Saver Movers and have over 15 years experience moving in Gainesville.

We are proud to say that we are owned by prior military(Navy) and University of Florida Alumni. We value the dedication and hard work that both groups put into our Gainesville community and this is why we offer discounts to both groups. Cox Media has allowed us to reach a larger audience that is not available through other channels.

We hope that you have seen the advertisement on Cox Channel 8, GoScout Homes. Be on the lookout for our advertisements around town, many of them offer great ways to save money.

Moving a piano in Gainesville requires the skill and knowledge of professionals. Gator Saver Movers employees are trained in how to properly move a piano without causing any damage. Pianos are extremely heavy yet delicate and require extra attention. Recently a moving company from Chicago contacted us to help move a baby grand piano to the second story in Uptown Village.

For those not familiar with Uptown Village it is the apartment community located off 39th avenue where the Red Onion Grill is. The buildings are colorful and very hard to miss. After getting all the details on the location and what was needed our crew headed to Uptown Village with dollies, straps and muscle! The moving company from Chicago already had a piano board which is essential for moving a piano. The only thing they were lacking was manpower which is why they called us.

To properly move the piano it needs to be secured to the piano board with the legs removed and strapped down using high strength straps. As you can see in this picture the piano is securely strapped to the piano board.

The piano board allows a dollie to then be used to safely move the piano where it needs to go. It is advised to have at least two people at the top and three at the bottom. The baby grand piano that was moved in Gainesville at Uptown Village weighed close to 1000lbs and required every bit of five men to move. Slowly and carefully we navigated the twenty steps of from the first to second floor of Uptown Village one at a time. As you can see in the second picture below it made it up the stairs.

The piano still must have the legs attached and placed rightside up. The customer was very happy and immediately began playing the piano once we had it in the apartment. When moving a piano in Gainesville remember to call a professional. Gator Saver Movers is the best piano movers in Gainesville.

Moving to Gainesville Florida can be quite an adventure. There are many different apartment complexes in Gainesville that present unique obstacles when moving in. With the large resort style apartments such as The Bartram and Wildflower long walks can often present challenges for most students when moving to Gainesville. Things to remember when moving to Gainesville are

Have you coordinated with your Gainesville apartment manager so they know a moving truck will be outside?

Does your apartment complex have a special loading ramp or elevator that would make getting to additional stories easier?

Does your Gainesville moving company know how long of a walk there may or may not be? Long walks can often increase the price because of the additional amount of time it takes to move your items in

There are many other things to consider when moving to Gainesville but the above three are the most commonly overlooked. Choosing the right Gainesville movers should take a little bit of time. It is recommended that you have at least three in home estimates from licensed and insured movers. Gator Saver Movers estimators are trained to give the most accurate quotes and we will stand behind any quote we give 100%. We do not believe in hidden fees when moving to Gainesville and neither should you. Give us a call at 352-215-0026 and allow us to remove the stress of moving to Gainesville.
